Birthday Morning

As we walked into her room this is what we saw.  OMG she was so excited to go from 3 to 4!

I got a golden ticket!!

We have watched both Willy Wonka movies & she loves them so this Wonka bar with a golden ticket was a big hit for her!

Oh yes it was a happy morning

Oh and the fun continued on into the afternoon and evening big time

April 28, 2012 (already)

Can it really be that today we celebrate our Laney turning 4 years old? It seems a day of pure joy as we celebrate such a happy girl. Do I have a moment of sadness as I think about the baby years being behind us? YES! Do I have thoughts about Laney's birth family and how they must feel today? YES! They gave us the ultimate gift. I hope and pray they know Laney is our world and we love her beyond our wildest dreams.

So now about turning 4......Obviously I loved age 1 (we met Laney in China at 12 months old). Age 2 rocked my world and was just awesome  (I called them the terrific twos). Age 3 has been awesome but definitely more interesting maybe we should call it the trying threes. Just more independence and more testing the boundaries you know all that 3 year old jazz. Still awesome just a tiny bit more trying. So as she turns 4 I am looking so forward to what this year will bring. Maybe Fabulous Fours?

So what at this age is little Miss Laney like:
Laney loves to cuddle, to play games, to tell stories, to read books, to talk (non stop talking), to do homework, to bake & cook. Laney loves to be a home body and just hang out, just relax. Laney loves to pretend she is an Astronaut, Scientist, Doctor, Vet and a Cowgirl. She loves playing in water and/or sand (regular sand and molding moon sand), she loves to paint, she loves horses & lasso's, flashlights, the color purple, telling jokes, crafts, glue, music (singing, dancing, playing instruments and putting on shows), she loves to lounge/kick back and watch a show, movie etc. She is happy and loves to laugh.
A couple things she likes to eat (that seem pretty normal): Chocolate & Pasta.
A few things she likes to eat (that seem not so normal): Calamari, Fettuccine Alfredo, Chicken Marsala.
Several things she does not like (that seem not so normal): pizza (she will not eat anything with a red sauce). Chicken tenders/nuggets etc (she will not eat chicken with breading on it. Ketchup & Maple Syrup she won't eat.
Well off to enjoy a great weekend with a newly 4 year old - WOW!

What an amazing joy it is to watch Laney have such an amazing time.  I took tons of pictures of such a happy girl loving LB and having tons of LB fun! Laney is also smitten with Bobby Golden (the drummer) and has not stopped talking about him - lol.

There are so many keepsakes in our home from our amazing trip to China.  Laney is so talkative these days about being born in China and living in America with her family.  She loves to tell people she grew in her Mamma's heart.  I love this angel so so so much!

Poppy's b'day

Poppy had a birthday and we never did post pictures (not that I took many)

He had a nice birthday.  It is busy since his is March, Laney's is April and mine is May.  Phew nothing like 3 in a row ;)

The day after Easter

It is sad but very true................Our daughter is soooooooooooo clumsy.  So we all worry, we all know it very well could happen and it did!  She fell on Easter Sunday (notice her left eye/cheek)! Thankfully she is OK and as I look at these pictures it is not really as bad as the scream we heard when it happened (which minutes later she was laughing and having fun with her cousins).  Yes it is yet another spring with another boo boo for our clumsy girl (kinda her 1st shiner) ;(

Remember spring of 2010 when we were doing Easter photos and WHACK she got a goose egg on her forehead - OMG the poor girl....hmmm spring may not be her thing?

Easter Morning

Just woke up (way to early for her) and said "did the Easter Bunny come"

she opened gifts

she searched for hidden indoor eggs (all without brushing her hair - lol)

she played with some of her "homework" workbooks

Than had a special breakfast

Than it was put on warmer stuff & search for hidden outdoor eggs

Than cuddle as a family of 3 (+ 2 pups) and watch a great movie......HOP
