Sandbox serious

Playing at Laney's 3 cousins house was fun! Laney will sit in the sandbox and just play for the longest time. So far the sandbox (this was only her 2nd time in a sandbox) is a place for miss very serious. While in it she must be concentrating on mastering her skills? :)

pass along some great news

Wanting to pass along some great news. An extension for the adoption tax credit has been granted (until December 2011). Thank you to all families who lent their voice to help extend this tax credit beyond its original expiration date of December 2010. Maybe one day we can see this tax credit made permanent. These changes to the tax credit help make adoption more affordable for families and, in turn, helps more children find their forever family! Thank you!!

Happy Birthday Poppy 2010

How awesome to have Laney FINALLY home to celebrate Birthdays! Today is her main man's big day so here are some random photos of them together (random shots in random order).

5, 8, 27

• 5 times is how many times Laney has done pee pee on the potty (she started at 22 months and we are excited - I know we still have a long way to go but exciting still).


• 8 times a day is about how many times Laney brushes her teeth. She loves it! "Teeth" she says and runs for her toothbrush so excited. We start than she does it herself than she hands us the toothbrush and says "Turn" so we brush for her again and it repeats (many times a day obviously :))


• 27 times a day is about how many times Laney washes her hands. Yup she loves it! We gave in and said OK clean hands are a good thing so every time she walk by the bathroom, every time she sees us washing our hands, every time she goes on the potty (or tries to) or after she brushes her teeth, or after she eats, plays etc. crack us up. I gotta say this gives cleaning the bathroom new meaning for mama @?*.

Shoes, funny faces and 10 months ago

Laney loves to stand in her closet & try on shoes (on this day of TuTu fun she decided to try on a coat/vest also). She is also now into making funny faces. It is a daily crack up at our house!

On the 24th 10 months ago our precious girl was welcomed into our life -WOW how time flies when your having fun!

where do airplanes go

"CHINA" Laney says! It is so darn cute. Laney loves to look up in the sky at airplanes and talk about her uncle who flies airplanes and stretch out her arms and pretend she is an airplane and of course play with all her airplane toys. So we started talking about how Mama, Poppy and Laney were on an airplane to/from China to bring her home. So now if you ask her "Laney where do airplanes go"? she smiles big and says "CHINA"!!!!

GREEN

We have been working on colors for a bit now and Laney will repeat every color you say. She seems to pronounce Purple the clearest of them all but gosh they all sound really good. The crack up is we think she has picked her favorite color. Anytime, every time, no matter what when you ask her what color something is she gets so excited smiles and says "GREEN"!
*side note* prior to Laney coming home if you were to ask Mama & Poppy their favorite colors we would both separately have said green. We do have a lot of green clothes and a lot of green in rooms of our home. So GREEN it is, our baby girl loves GREEN.

Hummus

Ok I have never had Hummus in my house (just not a fan) so when a friend came to visit and brought Hummus (thanks Denise) we uncovered little miss Laney was a BIG fan.

It is not going to be as cute writing it compared to seeing it but I need to jot this down (thanks MB for the video to blog tips, hopefully I will get to that at some point).
Ok so Laney takes her pointer finger and taps the side of her head and says "think think think" to flippin cute.

Laney is usually smiling, laughing and saying cheese in most pictures so I often try to get a serious shot. I personally feel serious shots are stunning. Sure I adore and love the happy, giggles of the smiling shots as well.

The weatherman said RAIN

Laney had fun when I said the weatherman called for rain so lets try on your raincoat and boots (thanks Terry). Still a little big on her but I could not get them off her, she is in love with them! Oh and the weather man was wrong and it never did end up raining yesterday :)

the snow is melting

We have had 3 warm days which means the snow is melting!!! YAHOO!! So each day we have gone for wagon strolls and played outside in the yard........................awesome!
