Where have we been and what is new

Some are asking the questions....Where have we been and what is new so I thought I would write a quick update. Dreaming of a sister is still full speed ahead. I am finding full speed is not as easy as I thought. We are buried in adoption paperwork right now. The process this time is very different and we have many hoops to jump through but all is moving along. We still don't have a date yet but that is OK we are enjoying life while doing paperwork and finding creative ways to do our best to cut corners and save money for adoption # 2. We have about 12 people asking us if we would consider another dreaming of a sister adoption fundraising tag sale. They have items they want to donate. My 1st thought is WOW that is so beyond generous. My 2nd thought is OMG another tag sale?  Did you see those pictures and how much stuff we had!!  The task of storing it until the tag sale was such a challenge not to mention cleaning it, pricing it and setting up. BUT ya what..................How can I even begin to mutter a complaint about the generosity of people and a challenge? I say challenge OK bring it on! We will face the challenge and appreciate every single bit of help,love and support. So the thought process begins for tag sale #2 (on a bit of a smaller scale than # 1) and at the same time the adoption paperwork for sister continues and hopefully late 2012 will bless us with a sister.

Happy Birthday Poppy

Crystal

Well if we have to have snow at least we can build snowman or in this case Laney said "her name is Crystal and she is not a snowman she is a snow girl." I realize that at this age it is not the kids who build snow "people" it is the Mom's and Dad's because it truly is a lot of work (but that is OK because the end result is cute cute cute.  Sadly Crystal melted several days later ;)

March 8th

It is so werid to see March 8th pop up on the calendar.  March 8th 2006 was our LID (log in date) meaning China logged in our adoption dossier.  BIG deal when you are in the process.  It was such a big day in 2006.  Then in 2007 we celebrated cause we hit our 12 months of waiting.  Then in 2008 we got mad....why are we still waiting?  Than in 2009 we cried and cried.....why are we still waiting?  Than just 1 month later in April 2009 we got our answer.  Laney was meant to be our daughter and that is why we waited.  She is our miracle and that is why March 8th will always be special on my calendar ;)

In Laney's words...."Momma come to my bigger big girl bed for the wedding!"

And as I walked into her room this is what I saw.......Her beloved Monkey who she got as a gift from friends before she even came home (2 monkeys actually - 1 stays in the car and the other in her bed) and this lovely doll which she also received as gift from friends who traveled to China who until now had no name.  I asked who monkey was getting married to and she said "this is sheh sheh and today she will marry my monkey."  Sheh Sheh means thank you in Chinese.

I knew the recent wedding had a cute great impact on her ;)

Flower girl

 

There are so many pictures from this amazing day (85 to be exact) but here are just a few.  WOW did she love love love being a flower girl.  Playing with her cousins, tossing flower petals, wearing a pretty white dress, dancing, singing and holding the brides hand everywhere she went!  CUTE!  Really a special day that is such an amazing memory for our little girl.  This day was for us all just - special special special!
