got milk....NOT

Well the title of this post gives a clue. Yes, we finally have insight into what has been causing poor little miss Laney's "symptoms". I have never spoken of them on the blog as I am big into the whole medical confidentially thing (plus let's be honest you guys just want to see pictures - LOL) seriously now that we know I feel more comfortable with it. I also thought maybe we can help others, maybe others can help us? So long story as short as possible. The scariest symptom throughout this was the wheezing. Other constant symptoms were chest congestion, runny nose, clogged nose, bloody nose, eczema on cheeks, arm and leg and the allergy shiners around her eyes. Laney's levels were high meaning her milk allergy is high so we have cleaned out the cabinets and fridge and will begin carrying our list of approx. 40 different names milk and milk products go by to the grocery store to see what to avoid. The girl is going to miss her cheese, yogurt and snacks but Mama is now on a mission to find her milk free snacks she will love. Thank goodness for bananas, sweet potato chips and veggie sticks. Laney goes to an allergy specialist next week so we will see if any new info is provided there and then it is 6 months of a milk free life and hopefully onto healthier days for our princess. It is hard to think for 19 months she has been suffering in silence. Even when on formula in China it was a milk based formula the poor thing! Thankfully she tested to not be allergic to soy and had her soy milk for the first time today and drank it all. Well I still have more ingredient labels to read so that is my post for the day. I will get back to pictures and fun non medical post stuff tomorrow. p.s. thank goodness she is not allergic to dogs or dust - lol

I think it is actually wonderful you found out while she is still so young! It all gets very easy, and she will be so much happier without. Good luck!
